We had a successful AGM on Thursday 11th May at All Saints’ Church Hall. Nearly 100 members attended and many commentated afterwards how useful it was to hear the speeches.

We had invited Chris Philp, our local MP who gave an interesting insight into the police organisation at the recent Coronation amongst other local issues; Neil Garratt, our local GLA member, who spoke mainly about the upcoming extension of ULEZ; and Jason Perry, our Mayor, who talked about Croydon finances and planning reforms and other local issues. Our Sanderstead Councillors, Lynne, Yvette and Helen were also present.

The Sanderstead Neighbourhood Team from the Police also came and Inspector Andy Smith gave an interesting talk and well as PC David Walters and PCSO Sam Brooks.

The executive committee was unanimously re-elected and Richard Pacitti was formally elected to the committee.

We presented donations to representatives from The Friends of Purley Beeches, Sanderstead Neighbourhood Care, The Friends of Wettern Tree Garden and South East Cancer Help Centre, all such deserving local causes who work voluntarily and tirelessly to support our community.

The evening ended over refreshments which gave members a chance to talk to their local representatives and members of the SRA committee.

Thank to to all those members who attended and for your continued support to the Sanderstead Community.
