We were delighted to support 16th Purley Scout Group by having a stall at their annual Gruffy Fayre which has been running for over 50 years.
As usual the cubs football tournament was central to the proceedings and 16th Purley won the cup. The excellent BBQ, with meat supplied by Bashfords in Elmfield Way, refreshments, Croydon Scouting climbing wall, and lots of stalls and local groups/businesses made it an enjoyable afternoon.
We were pleased to recruit 18 new members and enjoyed talking to many of our members.
Dominique from Sanderstead Library was able to join us for a while to promote the activities held at the library for both the young and the old.
Our local Councillors, Yvette and Helen, were also able to join us and answer residents’ questions.
We look forward to the Gruffy Fayre in 2024 on June 8th.
