We had another successful morning tending to the library garden – 30 bags of garden waste are now awaiting collection!
Maintenance was carried out in the wildflower section where we were pleased to see the bee orchids in bloom.
We also raked up fallen matter from the beech tree and did some weeding.
The WI look after the rose bed and it is a wonderful sight this year with lots of yellow and pink roses in abundant bloom.
Green Thumb have been treating the lawn for a couple of months now and the grass is already looking much better.
We plan to have our next workday in the early autumn with a view to clearing the flower bed under the wall so that we can plant spring bulbs and drought tolerant plants. This will be quite a task and more volunteers will be welcome.
