The Godstone Rd (A22) will be closed 24/7 from Saturday 22 July until Sunday 3 September for critical water improvement works. This is between the Downs Court Rd/Warren Rd traffic lights and the entrance to Tesco Extra on Purley Rd (the car park store entrance/exit will be open).
Warren Rd will be open for vehicle entrance/exit up to the rear entrance of Purley rail station. But Warren Rd will also be closed to through traffic from the sharp bend by Station ‘Approach Rd’ to stop it being used as a ‘rat run’.
The 412, 407 and 434 bus routes will also be affected. Information at the moment from TfL is that the 412 will terminate/start at the rear entrance of Purley rail station. The 407 will be a split service terminating/start at the rear entrance of Purley rail station. It will then leave/start at Purley Cross.
The 434 will go from Purley Cross down the Brighton Road to Old Lodge Lane as its diversion and in a reverse direction.
Southern Railway will be opening the barriers on the subway through from the front to rear entrances of Purley rail station.
Bus users are advised not to ‘touch in’ at the railway barriers if they are not travelling by train, but to use the bus on board bus ‘touch in’ only.
This information could change – subject to TfL, before the works commence.
