| Good morning, I’m writing to let you know that the Great British Rail Sale is back. Over a million discounted tickets are on sale on popular journeys across England and Wales at up to 50% off. Great Northern, Thameslink and Southern are taking part and passengers have from today (Tuesday 23 January) till Monday 29 January to get their sale tickets for travel between Wednesday 7 February and Friday 15 March 2024. The following promotions apply: Up to 50% off Advance tickets on selected journeys on the Southern network Up to 50% off Off-Peak day return tickets into London Terminals on selected journeys on the Thameslink and Great Northern network Tickets need to be bought at least seven days in advance of the travel date. The national sale runs from 23 – 29 January for journeys taking place between 30 January and 15 March 2024. Note, operators are not offering sale tickets on days when their services might be impacted by the strikes announced by ASLEF.
The Great British Railways Transition Team estimate that the first Great British Rail Sale in 2022 saw passengers save around £7 million on rail tickets and encouraged around 70,000 adults who had not travelled by train since the COVID-19 pandemic to take a trip.*
