Following from our earlier post on 11th February, the garden room at All Saints’ Church Hall (the room at the back of the hall behind the stage) has been booked by Denhill Properties for a display of the proposed development at Barrowsfield. There will be an opportunity to show your preference for the render or brick design.

This will run from midday on Friday 15th March to 2pm on Saturday 16th March.

Ron Terry, director, will be in attendance for an hour an half from 2pm on Friday and from midday on Saturday should residents have any questions.

The following are responses supplied by Denhill Properties in response to the online comments in the previous post.

Parking clarification : 9 spaces are proposed for the 6 houses which is the maximum allowed by Croydon planning.  Cycle sheds will be provided for each house.

Highway safety : A full safety audit is being carried out by specialists.

Height / size : The proposed terrace is set well back from the road so the height will not impact on the street scene to any great extent ( 10m average). The houses cant be pushed back any further due to minimum garden requirements and impact on 2 and 3 Barrowsfield. They are the same height as Yew Tree Court and the buildings that form the shopping parade and much lower than the previously approved scheme.

Fence along the Limpsfield Road boundary ; The fence is limited to the parking area to discourage public perception of it as a public car park. It is only 1.5m high with trellis, which is lower than the original fence that was along the same part of the boundary and it is set back from the back of the pavement to create a softer feel than originally.

Style : Mock Tudor has been suggested but there is no Mock Tudor on the west side of Limpsfield road and the proposed Arts and Crafts style is consistent with the existing houses on Barrowsfield and others on the west side of Limpsfield Road.

Clarity on the application site boundary : The application site does not include any part of Barrowsfield Lane itself.
