Last night Santa came on his sleigh to switch on the Sanderstead Christmas Lights. There was a slight delay as he didn’t press the button firmly enough but they did come on eventually!
It was lovely to see so many families enjoying the event despite the weather and we are very grateful to Paul Meakin who opened their doors again and provided refreshments.
Carols were led by the choir of All Saints’ Sanderstead and 16th Purley Scouts.
Sanderstead and Selsdon Rotary helped Santa on his way and will be busy with him in the weeks leading up to Christmas visiting local roads. See an earlier post for further details.
SRA and the Sanderstead Councillors pay for the lights themselves.
