We had another succesful morning tidying up the flower bed under the retaining wall and sweeping/weeding the pathway from Farm Fields and up the steps to the main doors. We also started weeding the crazy paving pathway in front of the flower bed.
We will be returing in May, date tbc but it will be posted on our home page, to continue weeding the path, sweeping/clearing the path from the main door to Sanderstead Hill, and preparing some ground to sow wildflower seeds that we have been given.
The flower bed looks really good with lots of our cuttings getting well established now.
If you would like to help, please do join us. We end our session with a coffee/tea and a heritage biscuit – Wagon Wheels were well received this time!
We have recently heard from the Council that they hope to make an announcement about the future use of Sanderstead library in mid May. The Friends have been been maintaining the garden since the library’s closure last year so that it does not look neglected as we know how much residents value this green space.
