We were delighted to see the large hall at All Saints’ Church, Onslow Gardens, packed for our 99th AGM.
Refreshments were kindly provided by Ben from The Wine Cellar, Station Parade, in the form of a wine tasting event. Two reds and two whites were on offer with tasting notes. This was very popular with attendees.
We heard speeches from Chris Philp, MP (see main picture); Jason Perry; Neil Garratt, our GLA member:Sgt James Morrow from the Sanderstead Safer Neighbourhood Team; and Jill Finch from the Story Sanctuary. It has been announced that morning that Jill had been successful in her bid to take over the Sanderstead Library building.
We made donations to the Friends of Wettern Tree Gardens, The Friends of Purley Beeches and the Sanderstead Plantation Partners who all do so much to look after our highly valued open spaces, and also to Sanderstead Neighbourhood Care and the South East Cancer Help Centre who help many residents.
