This week the planning application for a Lidl store on the site of The Good Companions at Hamsey Green was submitted. SRA have not studied the plans in detail yet to see if and how they vary from the proposals that Lidl shared in their consultation earlier in the year. Whilst the site is an eyesore and needs redevelopment SRA are aware that there are mixed feelings about this application. Lidl have had to apply to Surrey County Council as well as Tithepit Shaw Lane is not under Croydon Council jurisdiction.
