We know that a lot of residents came to the Sanderstead Christmas Lights Switch On the weekend before last and that the children in particular were very disappointed when the lights failed to turn on.  We tried hard at the time to get this resolved but the operators were unable to switch the lights on manually via their laptop as they should have been able to. The lights did come on that evening but not until about 8pm.

On the Monday Councillor Yvette Hopley contacted those responsible and has as a result Sanderstead Residents Association received a letter of apology from the lighting contractors, Milestone, and as a gesture of goodwill, they have provided chocolate selection boxes for the disappointed children who attended.

If your child was at the event please go into Paul Meakin on Limpsfield Road and they will give them a selection box.

Dear Sanderstead Residents Association,

On behalf of M Group, we would like to sincerely apologise for the issues experienced with the festive lighting during the recent event. We understand how important these celebrations are to the community, and we regret that the lighting did not operate as planned.

As a gesture of goodwill and to offer compensation to the children who attended, we will be providing chocolate selection boxes.

Please accept our apologies once again and thank you for your understanding and support as we work to ensure such issues do not occur in the future.
