Update on gas main replacement in around the Westfield Avenue/Rectory Park area which is due to start on Monday 2nd September and last for the rest of the year

Further to our earlier post on 29th July, we now have some dates:

Work will be starting in Borrowdale Drive on Monday 2nd September . Work will then move into Westfield Avenue with a rolling road closure during the second week of September, residents will have access via a signed diversion route. There will be a closure on Court Hill to make a gas mains connection but also they will be looking to use a section of this road as a storage area.

Following Westfield Avenue work will continue in Copthorne Rise from the junction of Westfield Avenue to junction of Hyde Road, once at this junction traffic management will be removed from Copthorne Rise as the gas mains along Hyde Drive is replaced. Upon completion work will return to Copthorne Rise working from the junction of Hyde Road to Mitchley Avenue. All of this work will be completed using rolling road closures. Residents will have access via the diversion route and should be receive any complications with access issues the residents will be contacted by our team on site advising them.

While working on Mitchley avenue and Rectory Park we will use two way lights and close the junctions of the roads as we move past so that we can maintain the flow if traffic on the busy road.
