We had a very successful Centenary AGM on Thursday 14th May. It was lovely to see so many members present to hear from our newly elected Mayor, Jason Perry, our MP, Chris Philp, our GLA member, Neil Garratt and Sgt Morrow from the Sanderstead Safer Neighbourhood Team.
We made donations to local groups who do so much for our community: The Friends of Wettern Tree Garden, the Friends of Purley Beeches, the Sanderstead Plantation Partners, Sanderstead Neighbourhood Care, the South East Cancer Help Centre and The Story Sanctuary.
We also made a vote of thanks to our retiring Chairman, John Kempsell who has been in this role for nearly 15 years, and has been a committee member for even longer. We welcomed Florence Sherlock as our new Treasurer.
The formalities of the evening were followed by an excellent talk by Phil Swallow on the last 100 years in Sanderstead from the SRA perspective.
The evening closed with hospitality which were very pleased to see was enjoyed by so many.
