You will have seen the amazing new duck house on Sanderstead pond built by Bob a local volunteer.  After the old duck house was damaged Bob very kindly agreed to build a new one and went even further by helping to clear much of the excess lilies which were causing a problem for nesting ducks.  A pair of ducks have been seen trying out their new home and we hope that we will soon seen more now that some of the lilies have been cleared. Bob even mentioned our Centenary on the duck house – look at the side!

Bob has been liaising with Cllr Yvette Hopley and we hope that there will be a regular work party to help keep the pond looking beautiful. If you are interested in volunteering please get in touch.

Bob is also looking at a plan to help rejuvenate the water retention at Hamsey Green pond. It would be lovely to see this historic pond with water in it again. It was once a much larger pond but was made smaller for the road.
