In the Spring edition of Sanderstead News there was an article about the likely closure of the Post Office Counter in the Co-op at Hamsey Green which we know that a lot of residents rely on.
Cllr Lynne Hale has obtained an update from the Post Office this week:
“Thank you for your email about Hamsey Green Post Office.
I can confirm that the current operators, Co-op, do still plan on exiting the network. We do not yet have a confirmed date for closure but as soon as we do, we will communicate official notice to the local community and stakeholders, like yourself.
We do plan on continuing service in the area and are currently advertising for a new operator for the service on our website
If you’re aware of any retailer who may be interested in running Hamsey Green Post Office, then please do share the opportunity and encourage them to contact us through that link.
At this stage, we do not have any further details but we will communicate with the community, as soon as we do have more information.
