Today, Friday 6th November, our centenary sundial and time capsule were installed on the hill by the pond on the Gruffy.
We were pleased that a good number of residents and our Sanderstead Councillors, Yvette Hopley, Lynne Hale and Helen Redfern, came to watch the proceedings and we even had a photographer from the CR2 Magazine.
The time capsule was buried beneath the sundial and has a number of items relating to 2026 inside it. We reached out to the local primary schools and were very pleased that Ridgeway pupils provided letters to the children of 2126, postcards of Sanderstead, and what they like about living in Sanderstead.
We took some time checking that the sundial was aligned to true north….
